Amy Jin

Biography

Amy first began her badminton adventures in her backyard at the precocious age of 13. She quickly grew to love the thrilling sport and started training under world-renowned coaches, including 2008 Olympian Raju Rai, Israeli National Champion Paz Ben-Sira, and former World Ranked #3 Singles player Huaiwen Xu. Eager to test her skills, she traveled near and far to compete against fellow badminton enthusiasts. Amy’s most memorable victory was in 2010 where she won 1st place for U23 Mixed Doubles at the US Junior Nationals. While her victories are notable, Amy soon realized there was a more valuable achievement she could gain. Developing as a coach who inspires and fosters a love for badminton would be a far more meaningful accomplishment. Since her humble retirement from junior competitions, Amy has reinvested time in coaching junior group and private lessons. Local tournaments still spark her competitive spirit but now her thrill for the sport also comes from connecting with members of the badminton community because she believes that badminton is more than just a sport, it’s a part of life. See you on the courts!
