Job Title:        Head Badminton Coach

JOB SUMMARY

A fast-growing premier indoor badminton facility seeks an experienced and qualified badminton coach who can lead extended coaching staff and develop training programs, events and class schedules for club members and students. Candidates should have extensive prior coaching and supervising experience and a strong knowledge of professional badminton technical skills and strategies. Each candidate should be able to demonstrate his or her excellence in badminton by having a track record of winning national and/or international competitions and earning recognition and/or certification by national or international badminton associations.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

To apply for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor of Science in Physical Education or closely related field (foreign equivalent is acceptable);
  • Level 1 or above of USA Badminton Coaching Certification;
  • Minimum of five years of demonstrated badminton coaching experience;
  • Minimum of two years of demonstrated national or international badminton competition experience;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and carry out lessons in individual and group settings;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and make arrangements for players to attend national and international badminton tournaments;
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment and mentor junior coaches;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in English and a second language;
  • Willingness to travel to other cities for attending coach certification classes and to travel domestically and internationally for participating in badminton competitions and events; and
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

 

JOB DUTIES

  • Manage and lead junior and adult badminton classes and create positive learning environment for all coaches and players;
  • Oversee the development of badminton programs, camps, events, class schedules and exercise routines for players at all levels and ages;
  • Instruct players in badminton rules, movements and footwork techniques, net techniques, game strategies, physical conditioning, racketing skills, etc.;
  • Develop and implement training strategies and tactics based on player’s strengths and weaknesses;
  • Evaluate and provide feedbacks on players’ skills and performance for advancement;
  • Encourage and motivate players to participate in badminton competitions;
  • Prepare players for regional, national, or international competitions and coordinate travel arrangements;
  • Supervise and mentor junior coaches with respect to their career growth in the field;
  • Facilitate communications among students, parents and club members; and
  • Meet and work with club management team to plan for promoting the sport of badminton.

Job Type:  Full-Time

Required Travel:  Occasional domestic and international traveling for competitions, classes, and/or events

Required Education:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Required Experience:  Minimum of five years of badminton coaching experience and two years of national or international competition experience

Required License or Certification:  USA Badminton Coaching Certification with Level 1 or above
