Katy Li

Biography:

Coach Li is a former professional player in JiangSu Province, China. Between 1988 and 1995, she trained and competed for the JiangSu Province badminton team which is one of the top-level province teams in China. During her professional career, she has won many province and national level titles. After Li retired from the court, she coached badminton in multiple places with different audiences.

Her list of accomplishments include (but not limited to) all of the following:

  • 2014 WA Closed tournament – 1st place in mixed double and women’s double
  • 2012 WA BCD/A tournament – open division, 1st place in single
  • 2012 WA Closed tournament – 1st place in mixed double
  • 1988 JiangSu Province junior tournament – 1st place in single
  • 1989 JiangSu Province junior tournament – 2nd place in single, 1st place in double, 1st place team winner
  • 1990 JiangSu Province junior tournament – 1st place in single, 2nd place in double, 1st place team winner
  • 1990 National junior tournament – 1st place in single
  • 1992 National junior tournament – 2nd place in double
  • 1993 National junior tournament – 1st place in single
  • 1994 National junior tournament – 1st place in double
  • 1994 Jiangsu Province open tournament – 1st place in single
  • 1995 National city team tournament – 1st place team winner
  • 1995 – 1997: Assistant Coach for the JiangSu Province women’s team
  • 1997 – 2001: Private Coach in Nanjing, China
  • 2001 – 2005: Head Coach for the Soka University badminton team in Japan
